CODE OF ETHICS
The Mackay Group, like all ABA groups, operates under, and is bound by, a Code of Ethics. This code is designed not only to protect the Association, but its counsellors and members as individuals. Some of the clauses that may be of interest are:
Counsellors do not advise mothers, but offer support and suggestions on a mother to mother basis.
Counsellors do not give medical advice.
Discourage discussion of particular doctors, hospitals, maternal and child health centres/nurses both at meetings and in conversation.
ABA meetings shall not be used to promote the sale of goods or services by any person or organisation other than the Australian Breastfeeding Association without the permission of the Board.
